Founded in 2007 and based in historic downtown Kalispell, the Flathead Beacon is an award-winning independent news organization devoted to delivering free, thought-provoking journalism and commentary to northwest Montana. Updated daily at flatheadbeacon.com, the Beacon is an essential source of news and information for residents and visitors alike.

From its genesis as a weekly newspaper, Flathead Beacon Productions has evolved into a full digital and creative agency specializing in brand development, marketing, web development, and print and digital advertising. The team at Flathead Beacon Productions is powered by people who work, live, and play in the Flathead Valley, affording them a firsthand understanding of the communities they serve.

The Montana Newspaper Association (MNA) has regularly named the Flathead Beacon the best website and online newspaper in the state, while also recognizing its editorial, advertising and design excellence.

In addition to its daily online news, Flathead Beacon Productions publishes a suite of specialty print publications, including its flagship magazine, Flathead Living, an award-winning quarterly lifestyle glossy named ''Best Niche Publication'' by the MNA in back-to-back years. It also publishes two annual magazines —Glacier Journal, a field guide devoted to the Crown Jewel of the Continent, and Flathead Valley Family, which covers everything from local schools to outdoor programming for children, seniors, and everyone in between.
