About Us

Wood Roots Construction is a general contractor and custom builder located in Whitefish, Montana and doing work across the Flathead Valley. The Wood Roots Team has been building in the Valley for over ten years and has been building around the country for more than 30 combined years.

Boon Schmieder
Boon brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Woods Roots Construction. A graduate of Ferris State University with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Boon has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2009, showcasing his commitment to sustainable building practices.

WILSON MATTINGLY
A true Montana native, Wilson was born and raised in Choteau and has been immersed in the art of building since childhood. His journey began at the age of 7, crafting wooden swords in his father’s workshop, and evolved into summers spent working across nearly every trade in custom home construction. By 2002, Wilson had fully dedicated himself to the craft, gaining experience in multiple countries and contributing to some of the finest homes in the Flathead Valley.
